Sending Transactions through the EAL
Sending Transactions through the External Application Link
This section describes the format of the transactions used to request that a forward message be transmitted.
There are three 600-series transactions that allow forward (outbound) messages to be submitted through the external application link.
- Forward Text Message (Type 601): Allows a mobile-addressed text message to be submitted
- Forward Binary Message (Type 604): Allows a mobile-addressed binary message to be submitted
- Forward T2 Message (Type 609): Allows a T2-addressed message to be submitted.
These transactions are placed directly into the input data queue of the QTRACS/400 Router (OMRECVQ) by calling an IBM supplied API, QSNDDTAQ.
Note that the OMSTREAL and OMPRCEAL background tasks must be running in the Qualcomm subsystem in order for these 600-series transactions to be processed by QTRACS. Use the SBMSTREAL and SBMPRCEAL commands, respectively, to start the background tasks.
