Troubleshooting
The following topics help you use the Hours of Service application.

Browser Requirements
- Hours of Service doesn't display correctly.
- Hours of Service displays correctly with Internet Explorer 11.0 and Google Chrome.
- I see page errors when viewing Hours of Service.
-
Browsers often cache (store) web pages and images on your local hard drive so that web pages load faster. If the cache is too full it can cause page errors. Perform the following steps to clear your browser's cache:
- From the Tools menu of your browser, click Internet Options.
- In the Temporary Internet Files section, click Delete Files.
Email Alerts
- When I receive an email alert, the contents are misaligned or poorly displayed.
- This is not a browser issue. It is a problem for users who receive email using Cox.net and have the "classic" display setting. To mitigate this problem, change the display setting to "advanced."
Setup
- I made a change on the HOS Setup page but some of the mobile units were not updated.
- Mobile units are only updated if they are turned on within 30 minutes of the time that you save the change in the HOS Setup page. If the mobile units were not on, turn them on, make a change on the HOS setup screen, and click Save.
Navigation
- I get an error when I use the Tab key.
- A runtime error may occur when you use the Tab key to move the cursor. To prevent this error, use the mouse to move the cursor.
Screen Size
- My screen is small and I want to see more information.
- You can maximize the Internet Explorer window and change to a full-screen view by pressing F11. Press F11 again to return the window to its original look.
Timing Out
- When I leave Hours of Service open for a while I have to log in again.
- Hours of Service has an automatic 90 minute lockout. This helps to keep your data secure.
Reports
- The report I ran is not displaying.
- If you are using a pop-up blocker on the browser, make sure that it is disabled for the HOS website. Pop-up blockers prevent reports from displaying.
