Deliveries Page
The Deliveries page allows you to view, add, edit, send, and delete deliveries. The deliveries list in the main part of the page populates according the criteria you enter in the Search panel on the left.
Understanding Deliveries
- Delivery
- To send a file to a vehicle, you schedule a delivery. The delivery specifies the file to be sent and data associated with it, such as which vehicles should receive it, when it should be sent, when it should expire, and so on.
Understanding the Search Pane
- Vehicle ID
- Your company's commonly-used identifier for the vehicle, such as the truck number. You specify the Vehicle ID when you set up the truck in QTRACS.
- Vehicle UA
- The serial number of the Omnitracs mobile unit on the vehicle. UA stands for Unit Address.
- Subject (of a delivery)
- The name of the delivery.
- Group
- A way to subdivide your vehicles into sets. Examples include Depot, Reefer, or Subsidiary. You create, edit, and delete groups on the Settings / Groups page.
- Category (of delivery)
- A way to subdivide your deliveries by general content or purpose. Examples: Safety, Company Announcement, Payroll.
- Created From (Search panel)
- A date field used when searching for specific deliveries. The Created From date specifies the beginning of the time period you want to search.
- Created To (Search panel)
- A date field used when searching for specific deliveries. The Created To date specifies the end of the time period you want to search.
- GO (button on Search panel)
- After you enter your search criteria on the search panel, click GO to perform the search.
Understanding the Deliveries List
- Subject (of a delivery)
- The name of the delivery.
- Description (of delivery)
- Optional text to add more information about the delivery than what is specified in the Subject field.
- File Name (of delivery)
- The file to be delivered.
- Category (of delivery)
- A way to subdivide your deliveries by general content or purpose. Examples: Safety, Company Announcement, Payroll.
- File Size (MB) (of Deliveries)
- This displays the file size (in MB) of individual files scheduled for or sent to a particular mobile unit, vehicle, or group.
- # Pending (of Deliveries)
- For a given delivery, the number of files that are scheduled for delivery but haven't been sent yet.
- # Failed (of Deliveries)
- For a given delivery, the number of files the system attempted but failed to deliver.
- Actions (for a list of items)
- In a list of items, a column containing clickable icons for taking actions on the item in that row. Typical actions include deleting and editing.
Understanding the Status for Delivery Panel
- Status for Delivery (pie chart)
- For the delivery highlighted in the delivery list, shows the proportion of scheduled files that have been opened, unopened, pending, and failed.
- Last Sent/Fixed (Status for Delivery panel)
- The time and date when the delivery was last sent to one or more vehicles.
- Delivery Method or Delivery Options
- When you create a delivery you specify how you want the file to be delivered. For example, you can specify that you do not want the file sent unless Wi-Fi is available. You cannot edit the delivery method for an existing delivery.
- Available (Status for a delivery)
- The earliest date the delivery can be sent. You specify this value when you add or edit a delivery.
- Expiration
- The date after which the delivery will no longer be sent.
- View Assigned Group (Status for Delivery panel)
- Click to see which groups have been assigned to the delivery highlighted in the delivery list. (View only; to edit, click the edit icon in the Actions column of the delivery list.)
- View Assigned Vehicles (Status for Delivery panel)
- Click to see which vehicles have been assigned to the delivery highlighted in the delivery list. (View only; to edit, click the edit icon in the Actions column of the delivery list.)
How do I..?
- See a list of deliveries?
- Enter your criteria in the Search panel, then click GO.
- Send a file to one or more vehicles (create a new delivery) ?
- Click Add Delivery. Fill out the fields required, then click Save. When the delivery appears in the delivery list, click the WiFi icon in the Actions column.
- Find out the status of a delivery (display the Status panel)?
- If necessary, use the Search panel to populate the deliveries list. Highlight the row for the delivery in question. Information about that delivery appears in the Status panel (at the bottom of the page).
- Find out which vehicles have received a delivery?
- Display the Status panel for a delivery, then to see which vehicles received and opened the file, click Opened. To see which vehicles received but haven't yet opened the file, click Unopened.
- Find out which vehicles haven't been sent a delivery yet?
- Display the Status panel for a delivery, then click Pending.
- Find out which delivery attempts have failed?
- Display the Status panel for a delivery, then click Failed .
- Find out which groups should receive a delivery?
- Display the Status panel for a delivery, then click View Assigned Groups
- Find out which vehicles should receive a delivery?
- Display the Status panel for a delivery, then click View Assigned Vehicles
- Delete a delivery?
- Find the delivery in the list, then for that row click the red X icon in the Actions column. If the delivery is currently being transmitted, all icons are grayed out and not available.
- Resend a delivery (resend a file)?
- Find the delivery in the list, then for that row click the wrench icon in the Actions column. If there were no delivery failures, the wrench icon does not appear. If the delivery is currently being transmitted, all icons are grayed out and not available.
- Change (edit) a delivery?
- Find the delivery in the list, then for that row, click the pencil icon in the Actions column. If you change the settings for your delivery, Media Manager will automatically resend that delivery. If the delivery is currently being transmitted, all icons are grayed out and not available.
FAQs
- Why are the icons grayed out?
- All icons are grayed out and not available when a delivery is in the process of being transmitted. Once the process has started, you cannot edit the delivery until the process completes.
