IVG Unknown Positions Troubleshooting Guide

GPS Issues:  Unknown Positions, Missing Positions, Unit Not Positioning

 

Symptom: 

Unknown Positions; unit not positioning; missing positions; missing data diagnostics

 

Cause:

Signal Interference (most common)

• Electronic devices mounted on the dash near IVG i.e. Rand McNally or Garmin Navigation Systems, camera equipment, cell phone

Signal Blockage – no clear view of sky

• Large or metallic objects mounted directly above IVG
• IVG not in holster i.e. on seat, floor

Failed GPS Circuitry (rare)

• Install IVG in known good truck with no GPS issues.  If the issue follows, replace IVG.

 

Troubleshooting:

Using IVG, view GPS parameters.  Move IVG within cab to help detect source of interference or blockage.

Home button -> System icon -> GPS tab
