Fuel Efficiency Report

 

Overview

The Fuel Efficiency Report is used to individual fueling records for each vehicle and to help validate fuel and mileage data to prepare for tax filing. You can view the report on your screen, print the report, or export the report data in PDF or CSV format. See The Reports Screen for general information about running a report.

The Fuel Efficiency Report is useful for International Registration Plan (IRP) renewals, insurance assessments, audits, and Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration (C.V.O.R.).

Data Retention

Per regulation, and to assist in any auditing processes, IFTA report data is retained for a minimum period of six years.

The table below provides the path to the report and shows the reporting period and range.

Data Retention Data is retained for six years.
Maximum Reporting Period 92 days or less
Earliest Start Date 72 complete months prior to the current month. For example, a report generated on April 8, 2015, could provide data from as far back as March 1, 2009. 

 

Parameters

Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.

Field Description
Start Date Select a start date from the calendar, or enter a start date in MM/DD/YYYY format. The field defaults to the first day of the most recent IFTA quarter.
End Date Select an end date from the calendar, or enter an end date in MM/DD/YYYY format. The field defaults to the last day of the most recent IFTA quarter.
Jurisdiction Select any combination of jurisdictions from the drop-down menu.  By default, the report include all jurisdictions available.  To filter the results by specific jurisdictions, choose the drop-down arrow, and clear the checkboxes next to the jurisdictions you do not want to include in the report.
Vehicle ID Select any combination of vehicles from the drop-down menu.  By default, the report includes all vehicles available.  To filter the results by specific vehicles, choose the drop-down arrow, and clear the checkboxes next to the vehicles you do not want to include in the report.

Attribute Description
Jurisdiction Jurisdiction in which vehicle was driven during the reporting period.
Vehicle ID Vehicle identifier.
Fuel Purchased Fuel purchased in the jurisdiction.
Total Fuel (gal) Total fuel purchased during the reporting period.
% in Jurisdiction Fuel purchased in the jurisdiction (for the vehicle) divided by total fuel purchased during the reporting period.

 

At the top of the Fuel Efficiency report are totals for all listed jurisdictions, including Toll Miles, Non-Toll Miles, Total Distance, and Total Fuel.
