Editing HOS Logs: Importing Paper Logs

Overview

There are various situations which call for a driver's paper logs to be uploaded to Hours of Service. For example - when a driver is initially created in HOS, they will be created with 14 days of Off Duty, in order for you to accurately upload the duty status changes that occurred before they began using the ELD.

This action must be done manually by an admin with edit capabilities.

Goal

After completing this how-to you will have uploaded the driver's paper logs for time that the driver was not using Hours of Service into the Hours of Service portal.

First Step

Begin by going to the driver's Driver Details page. Select "Drivers", then search for your driver.

Afterwards, click the Driver Details Icon( ) in the Driver ID tab to get to the Driver Details page of the driver in question.

Identify the status which you will be editing and select the Correction icon in the Correction tab.

Fig 1 - Duration of Original Status: You may adjust the duration of the duty status you are editing. Note: adjusting Fig 1 will auto adjust Fig 2.2 & Fig 2.3.

Fig 2 - This is the subsequent status that we come immediately after the original status.

  • Fig 2.1 - Duty Status: the duty status of the driver.
  • Fig 2.2 - Start Time: the time that the duty status begins. Note: Fig 2.2(Start Time) will be auto adjusted by changing Fig 1 or Fig 2.3.
  • Fig 2.3 - Duration: the duration of the duty status. Note: Fig 2.3(Duration) will be auto adjusted by changing Fig 2.2 or Fig 1.
  • Fig 2.4 - Location: the location of the duty status. This will always initial use the location of the original status. Update the location as needed.

NOTE: YOU WILL ONLY NEED TO UPDATE ONE OF THE THREE( 1, 2.2, OR 2.3), THEN CLICK ANYWHERE IN THE WINDOW. THE OTHER TWO WILL AUTO ADJUST.

You may add remarks, if any are needed.

Fig 5 - Edit Reason: Edit reasons are required to save the edit.

Fig 6 - Save: Once all fields have been updated, use the Save button to save the edit.

What's Next

Once saved - you will have added another duty status change to the driver's logs.

If you would like to add subsequent statuses, follow the same steps until all statuses have been added. Example below.

Once completed the driver will be sent the pending statuses to accept the edits. Afterwards, the duty statuses will be reflected on the driver's logs.
