Exact Fuel Overview

Exact Fuel allows you to monitor changes to your vehicles' fuel levels, identify potential fuel theft or loss, and improve fuel stop planning. Omnitracs mobile units transmit fuel level data available from the vehicle data bus every 15 minutes when the vehicle is stopped and every 60 minutes when the vehicle is traveling at least 5 mph. Exact Fuel allows you to set thresholds for changes in fuel levels and review all fuel events that exceed these thresholds.

Along with showing the percentage change in the fuel level, the fuel event in Exact Fuel shows the vehicle odometer reading and change in odometer since the last fuel level reading, the location of the vehicle at the time of the reading, the driver ID/name logged into the mobile unit, and a timestamp for the date and time of the reading.

The Exact Fuel web interface only shows fuel events that exceed your thresholds; however, all fuel events, even if they do not exceed the thresholds, are available through web services integration.

Exact Fuel is only compatible with vehicles equipped with an IVG, MCP200, MCP110, or MCP50 that have a J1939 data bus.

The Exact Fuel home page provides two tabs, Fuel Events to search for fuel events that exceed your thresholds and Settings to set thresholds.
