Appendix I - Comm Unit Firmware Features
This appendix lists various QTRACS features that have been introduced over time that are dependent upon the firmware in the Comm Unit. The firmware level listed is the minimum firmware level that supports the indicated feature.
Obviously, there are many other features, and all of them are dependent on some version of firmware. However, most of the features have been available "since the beginning." This table lists key firmware-dependent features that have been introduced over the past three to four years.
In many cases, QTRACS software allows or disallows the use of these features based on the unit's firmware level. Other times, as in the case of the new macro field types, QTRACS just does its best to handle messages received from units that don't have capable firmware.
