Region Settings: Auto Arrive/Depart - General
Note: Some of the options described are purchasable and may not appear. Contact your Omnitracs sales representative for more information about acquiring additional features.
Each organization or area for which you create routes is referred to as a region; you set up separate regions for each depot. A region is a division within a business unit. There can be 1 or more regions in a business unit and they are unique within a business unit. For example, you could have one region be Baltimore and another region be Washington, D.C. Each region can have its own default settings, such as the equipment type, that will be used throughout the region.
If you use auto arrive/depart, the Auto Arrive/Depart - General page allows you to set some options that affect how this feature will perform within a region.
Auto arrive/depart allows mobile, Telematics, and navigation devices to automatically detect when a worker is at a stop, so that workers don't have to press any buttons when arriving and departing. Auto arrive/depart will automatically be enabled for any routes that use Telematics devices only (those that do not use a mobile device), for routes that have Telematics devices are set as the Preferred Source of Arrivals/Departures, and for routes that use Omnitracs Navigation. If you use mobile devices for arrivals and departures and you want to use this feature, you must enable auto arrive/depart for the region.
- In the Add/Edit Region window, click Auto Arrive/Depart, then General.
- In the Minimum Stop Time field, enter the length of time a worker’s equipment must be stationary while within a stop's geofence for an automatic arrival to occur. This setting is used to reduce the number of false arrivals at a stop or depot. Enter the length of time in HH:mm format. The default setting is 3 minutes.
Notes: To be considered stationary, a worker must meet the Stationary Positions criteria.
For Omnitracs Navigation users, geofences are not used and stops will be arrived at the closest service location or depot within a one mile radius when the Minimum Stop Time is met.
If you want the Minimum Stop Time to be required for an automatic arrival to occur at the route's final destination, such as at a destination depot, then you need to check Use Minimum Stop Time For Destination Arrival.
- In the Minimum Route Duration field, enter the percentage of the route’s minimum run time, after it has started but before it has entered the destination’s delivery radius, that must pass for the route to auto arrive. The Minimum Route Duration must be met before the worker can arrive at a destination. This setting is used to prevent an incorrect arrival at the route's final destination shortly after the route was started, which could otherwise happen when a worker starts and ends a route from the same depot. Use the arrows to assign a percentage between 0 and 100. The default setting is 85%.
- In the Minimum Unknown Stop Time field, enter the length of time a worker's equipment must be stationary while outside any stop delivery radiuses before an unplanned stop is created and automatically arrived. This setting is used to reduce the number of false arrivals. The default setting is 3 minutes.
Note: This option applies only if you use Telematics devices for arrivals and departures. - Check Use Minimum Stop Time For Destination Arrival to trigger an automatic arrival when the Minimum Stop Time is satisfied at the route destination. Checking this reduces the number of false arrivals at the destination.
- Check Associate Unknown Stops with Nearest POI if you want unknown stops to be associated with a point of interest (POI). If this option is selected, when an unknown stop occurs Omnitracs Web will try to associate the unknown stop with a restaurant, truck stop, large store or other point of interest in the area and display the POI as the description in the stop list. If this option is not selected, the stop will appear in the stop list simply as an unknown stop.
- Check Auto Create Unplanned Serviceable Stops if you want unknown stops on a planned route to be associated with the closest service location. If this option is selected, when an unknown stop occurs Omnitracs Web will automatically associate the stop with the closest service location. If this option is not selected, the stop will appear in the stop list simply as an unknown stop.
Note: This option applies only if you use Telematics devices for arrivals and departures. - Click the Resequence Method arrow and choose how to handle stops that are planned on a route, but are skipped by the worker.
Move To Next: The missed stops will be moved to the next stop on the route.
Move To Last: The missed stops will be moved to the last stop on the route.
Cancel: The missed stops will be canceled.Important: If you use mobile devices, the option selected here will apply only if Auto Sequence Stops is also selected for the region. If you use Telematics devices or Omnitracs Navigation, auto sequencing is always in use and the option selected here will be applied.
Note: If you want the region to use the setting from the region at the level above, instead of using an override, click the
Remove Override icon. The Remove Override icon is only visible if you are using hierarchy management.

- To set other options for the region, click on the appropriate option along the left side of the window. When you are finished setting up the region, click the [Save] button.
