Understanding Extraction Cycles

The Performance Monitoring application collects, summarizes, and stores driver and vehicle performance data for the scheduled cycle interval. Extractions are defined as follows:

  • Automatic extraction cycle—an automatic, recurring cycle that requests extractions for your entire fleet
  • Manual vehicle extraction—a manual, individual vehicle extraction that you request for a specific vehicle or group of vehicles
  • Exception extraction—an automatic, individual vehicle extraction triggered when the mobile unit detects that fleet-wide exception thresholds are exceeded
  • Event-based extraction—an automatic, vehicle extraction generated by an external application (such as your dispatch system)

Note: Because the mobile unit summarizes data for the entire period between extraction with reset, if the extraction cycle is set for weekly extractions, you can't view activity for a single day.

Enable scheduled extracts

Check to receive extractions automatically at the start of each cycle.

Time between extracts

Default scheduled cycle time

Sets the hour and minute for the extraction.

Notify overdue extracts

Check to notify the user ID listed in the Alerts area below of any extraction requests that do not complete.

Notify MCT autoextracts

Check to notify the user ID listed in the Alerts area below when an exception-based extraction is received.

Enable host-generated faults

Check to have the software generate faults based on extraction calculations.
