Performance Monitoring collects and reports driving behavior that affects safety and fuel consumption. Examples of events that are recorded include speeding, idling, over-revving, and time in cruise control. You can use dashboards and charts in Performance Monitoring to coach drivers that need to improve, and to reward drivers whose driving practices save you money.
Performance Monitoring data is used to analyze driver behavior as a whole, not to pinpoint exact dates and times when a driver was, say, speeding or coasting out of gear. For example, you can easily use the data to coach a driver by showing him a chart of his idling statistics over the last three months and discuss how to improve fuel efficiency by reducing idling.
To get meaningful data, you need to make good decisions about how you want to collect data. The initial setup will give you recommended baseline settings to start with and then you will need to review the data after the first few extracts and adjust the settings as needed for your business needs and goals.
