Omnitracs IVG DA1234R Release Notes

Overview

We are pleased to announce that the Omnitracs IVG DA1234R release is available. This release includes new features, enhancements, and software corrections for the IVG device.

New Features and Enhancements

Remove automatic annotation "No ELD" on accepted UVA's

OHOS-212

An ELD provider is not required to identify a UVA when the event is created as an unidentified driving event.

We have removed the automatic annotation of the drivers log at the time of acceptance of an unidentified driving event.

Update the automatic transition for ignition off to manual drive

OHOS-7259

When Ignition off occurs the Drive status changes to Manual Drive status instead of ON duty.

This change is necessary to be in compliance with the FAQ that was issued back in November 2019 and is attached below.  In the end, the intent of the change is to prevent the driver from being stuck in a Drive event beyond the automatic transition time to ODND after the vehicle is powered down and the ELD is unable to complete the 6 minute countdown (to transition to ODND) for some reason.  The result is the driver being left in an extended Drive event that cannot be otherwise edited.

When the vehicle is powered down, we will NOT transition the driver from Drive, but instead bifurcate the Drive into two separate events.  The event prior to power down will remain Automatically Recorded Drive and time after the power down will be Manual Drive (making that time editable should the driver unexpectedly be stuck in drive beyond the 6 minute timer expiration).  Understand, that this change in no way impacts the way the auto transition timer works.  Whether or not the vehicle is powered down after the auto transition timer starts, the driver will be prompted after 5 minutes of no motion.  If the driver fails to respond to the prompt, at the 6th minute the driver will be transitioned to ODND.

All references to "approving" logs should be updated to “certify”

OHOS-5772

Approving logs were updated on the resources file by replacing any reference to "approve or approval" to "certify or certification."

Remove the on duty rest break option on the mobile device

OHOS-6881

With the changes in the US hours of service rules, there is no longer a need to offer an on duty rest break exemption for hazmat. We removed this feature from the host and mobile.

Update ERODS filename if the driver has a space in their last name

OHOS-6939

In rare cases where a driver has two surnames, which includes a space, the ERODS file would fail due to the space. This has been corrected.

Updated the transition from driving to on duty when the vehicle powers off

OHOS-6955

Updated the transition from driving to “on duty” when the vehicle powers down which is shown as a manual change initiated by the second driver.

There was a problem where the mobile could create an EOT on duty status with the exact same time stamp as a manual change. The system will now ensure that the mobile does not create two events with the exact same time stamp. The manual change event should have a time stamp that is 1 second later to ensure that the correct duty status is captured. This issue has been resolved.

Remove Hide the rest break option on the mobile device for Hazmat
