Accessing Compliance in Drive

Click here for a list of compliance articles grouped by topic.

Note: Depending on the Compliance application you are using, you may not see some of these options and some features may not be available.

Omnitracs Drive lets you quickly access Compliance functions to keep you moving forward with your day and stay compliant with Federal regulations.

Within Drive, you can quickly see how your duty status is set as well as change your status, review your time to violation clocks, and see the number of hours you have been driving. You can also easily access your Compliance application.

Signing Into Drive

During the sign in process Drive will prompt you to certify and edit your logs.

If you have Hours of Service logs that need to be certified, Drive will prompt you to manage them before you can proceed with your day.

Logs that are not certified display one by one.

To certify your logs, tap Agree when the log displays.  If you agree to all of your logs, you will continue on to Drive.

To edit a log that you do not agree with, tap Edit when the log displays. The Log Editor opens in Compliance, so that you can manage any logs that are not certified.

Note: All logs must be certified before you can continue with your day in Drive.

To return to Drive and begin your day, press your device’s back button.

Changing Your Duty Status

Drive is designed to work seamlessly with Omnitracs Compliance. When you sign in to Drive, you are prompted to change your duty status. You can also change it when you start and complete your trip, when you arrive or depart a stop, and any time you view the Hours Of Service (HOS) page.

If you are set up to automatically arrive and depart stops, your Duty Status will change between On Duty Driving and On Duty Not Driving when the vehicle is or is not in motion for approximately five minutes.

The HOS Timeclock shows you the time you have remaining until your next required rest break.

Tap HOS to display the HOS screen. Here you can change your Current Duty Status and review your time to violation clocks.

To change your Duty Status on the HOS screen, simply tap the arrow next to your Current Status and choose an appropriate Duty Status from the list.

Performing ELD Activities

You can also perform ELD Activities from the HOS screen, such as View Logs during a roadside inspection or Edit Logs if you need to change an event in your log history. When you tap the ELD activity, your Compliance application opens to the appropriate screen.

Some things you may be able to do include:

  • View Logs
  • Edit Logs
  • Certify Logs
  • Add Exception
  • Roadside Inspection
  • Change Operating Zone
  • Add Remark
  • Add Shipping Docs

Note: The list available under ELD Activities depends on the Compliance application that you use.

When you complete your ELD activities, press your device’s back button to leave Compliance and continue your day in Drive.

Using the Menu to Access Omnitracs Compliance

You can access Omnitracs Compliance directly from the Menu in Drive. Tap Menu and then tap Compliance.

This is another quick way to open Compliance when you need to show your logs to a D-O-T inspector.

To return to Drive when you are on the Compliance main screen, tap Menu and then tap Omnitracs Drive.
