Asset Types

Asset types are the types of equipment you use in your operation. Drive comes with six default asset types:

USA_VEHICLE

USA_TRAILER

CANADA_VEHICLE

CANADA_TRAILER

QUEBEC_VEHICLE

QUEBEC_TRAILER

You can not delete these asset types, but you can change them.

Note: If you need to create additional asset types, you must use one of these types, but pre-pend a descriptor to the beginning of the name. For instance, to create an additional trailer, you could clone USA_TRAILER and name it NEW_USA_TRAILER.

To change an existing asset type, follow the steps below.

  1. Click the Edit icon next to the type. The Edit Asset Type window opens.
  2. Check Ask for Mileage to prompt the driver to enter the odometer reading when performing the inspection.
  3. Check View Previous Inspection to have allow the driver to see the results of the previous inspection.
  4. Enter the proper text in the Not Safe for Operation Message. This is the text the driver will see if the inspection deems the equipment is not safe to operate.
  5. Click the [Save] button.
