Maps/Navigation Page

The Maps/Navigation page lets you choose the maps and map features that will appear in Drive, as well as the Navigation options if you are using a Navigation applications. The options are described below. 

Map View

The options under the Map View section affect which maps and map features are shown in Drive. 

Map Provider - click the arrow and choose the provider for the maps you are using. 

API Key - if necessary, enter the API key for the map provider. 

Map Features - click the arrow and choose whether you want traffic and/or weather updates to appear on the map. 

Disable Route Map - check to prevent the route path from displaying on the map.

Enable Travel History for Current Trip - check if the driver should be able to enable drive history on the map in Drive. If enabled, the travel history will show GPS pings on the map showing the path the driver took. Enter the frequency, in minutes, that the GPS pings should be shown in Travel History GPS Interval. For example, if "1" is entered, there will be a GPS ping showing the driver's position every minute. 

Navigation

The options under the Navigation section allow you to define which Navigation option is being used. The Navigation Integration selected will affect which additional options are available.

Navigation Integration - click the arrow and choose the Navigation application the driver will be using. 

Navigation Units of Measure - click the arrow and choose whether the Navigation application will use Imperial or Metric measurements when displaying information. This option is only available if ALK CoPilot is selected as the Navigation Integration. 

Display Stop Information - click the arrow and choose whether the stop name and/or stop address is shown in Navigator.  This option is only available if ALK CoPilot is selected as the Navigation Integration.

Hide Stop Side - check to hide which side of the street the stop is located on in the Navigation application. This option is only available if ALK CoPilot is selected as the Navigation Integration.

Turn on GPS Logging - check to have GPS debug logs created. Normally this option should not be selected. This option is only available if ALK CoPilot is selected as the Navigation Integration.

Route Path Provider - click the arrow and choose the system that will provide the route path the driver will follow. 

Initial Timeout - enter the number of seconds Drive will wait to receive the initial information from the Navigation application.

Heartbeat Timeout - enter the number of seconds that Drive should wait to receive information from the Navigation application before cancelling navigation. The Heartbeat Timeout is not considered until the initial response is received from the Navigation application. 

Vehicle Type - Define the type of vehicle for which the route is being generated.

Routing Type - Define the way the route path is generated.

Favor National Network (US Only) - Check to favor US National Network.

Use 53' Trailer Routing - Check to use 53' tailer routing.

Toll Road Usage - Define when to use toll roads.

Discourage Ferry Usage - Check to discourage using a ferry when routing.

Display Truck Restrictions - Define when to show road restrictions.

Discourage Routing Based on Elevation - Enter the maximum elevation to use when generating the route path. Entering 0 disables this option.

Stop Side Adherence Level - Define how well the route will adhere to side of the street routing, based on the side of the street the destination is located on. The level options range from Minimal to Strongly Adhere.

Governor Speed Limit - Enter the maximum road speed to use when calculating routes. Entering 0 disables this option.
